About us
The Romanian Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology is a non-profit organization that was established in Timisoara in 2007, coinciding with the inaugural National Conference of Pediatric Otolaryngology with international participation. The society’s formation was officially recognized by Decision nr. 4601/325/2008 of the Law Court of Timisoara.
The society is registered in the Special Register Associates Certificate Nr. 42/22.04.2008 and holds the National Agency for Fiscal Administration Certificate Series A no. 0610493, 24095911 CIF.
The establishment of the Romanian Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology was catalyzed by the accelerated development and diversification of investigative and treatment methods within the broader field of ENT and pediatric medicine. This necessitated the creation of a structured platform for the discussion of pediatric otolaryngology-related issues and the dissemination of novelties and experiences to its members. Organizing scientific events with instructional-oriented courses and international faculty participation with such occasions can foster the professional development of our pediatric ENT specialty.
The formation of the Romanian Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology is not an isolated instance, as the European Society of Otolaryngology and Pediatrics (ESPO) exists at the European level since 1994 and has affiliated more than 50 national societies. An active participation of our Society in European initiatives can enhance the visibility of Romanian specialists and presents new opportunities for young residents to prepare and train abroad.
